Salsa Recipe

So this was a little more time consuming than I originally thought but with the help of the hubs, we made our own homemade salsa. As we have been getting more into clean eating we have been adding salsa to almost everything! (and its the only way I can more veggies into the 2 kiddos)

Here our recipe we used that turned out quite well:

4 lbs. of Roma tomatoes (we got ours at Sprouts and it was 2 prepared bags full)
1 medium onion
1/2 tsp minced onion flakes
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp red pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cumin

Dice the tomatoes and onions into the pot and add the seasoning. Cook on medium-medium high heat until it comes to a boil. Turn it down to a simmer for 20 minutes (the tomatoes will get a little thick and bubbly on top). Turn it off and let it cool to room temperature before putting into your salsa jars. (We used Ball mason jars) Our first batch made 4 mason jars full.
