Candles by BotanicPress Review

I am always on the hunt for anything that makes my home less like smelly-boy and more into a spa. I need a place of relaxation to get away for a while. Picking my favorite candles have recently become harder because of my more natural lifestyle these days. I did find one that makes the grade! Go right here to the Botanic Press shop or click on any of the pictures as you read to shop around! When purchasing things I absolutely love when I know the person behind the logo and the “stuff”. It makes me feel amazing when I can buy local and help families rather than the bigger companies. (don’t get me wrong, they supply jobs too) So I read Ashley’s bio I really connected with the empowering you feel when you create something that is beautiful and natural. I also deeply love the cozy lifestyle she incorporates to each candle with the book titles, it just makes me want to snuggle into my comfy sofa with a blanket and hot cocoa by the candle light.

The Why Behind the Candles:

“When I think about candles, I think about dinner parties, long talks on the patio, or rainy evenings with a good book. They are the centerpiece of quality time – both with others, and with yourself. In 2014 I ventured into candle making as “just another hobby.” But then I realized something (besides the amazing smells lingering around my kitchen). It felt GOOD. It was super empowering to be able to create something all by myself that was way more earth-friendly than many of the other candles on the market.”
“This led to many, many other revelatory moments where I thought to myself, “I bet I could make that.” And in fact, I could. The concept behind my shop is to combine all the things I adore: reading, planet earth, relationships, and an all around cozy life. Each candle is named in reference to a story or character that has shaped me in some way, and is meant to bring you and your people closer together; whether its your shared love for Earnest Hemingway, or the refreshing scent of sandalwood drifting through the air. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!”

The candle I am swooning over is the newly released addition called Wonderland! It is a soy wax candle made purely with essential oils! It is seasonal but don’t worry, there will be more coming along made with purely essential oils.

Ashley’s Commitment on Improving Health Quality in Candles

“The ones made with fragrance oils are Phthalate-free, which is where you find most of the toxicity in candle fragrances. Unfortunately companies don’t have to list exactly what they put in their fragrance oils, so I make sure to only get ones without phthalates (even though not all phthalates are bad!). Also, even though fragrance oils are man-made, many of them contain primarily essential oils. The only reason I can’t say that they are 100% natural is because I don’t know the nitty-gritty of what’s in each oil. BUT, I will say that I buy from very reputable American companies who seek out the most ethical/natural ingredients possible.”
I just love the smell throughout the house and knowing that I am not putting harmful chemicals into the air is empowering as well. Go right over here to try one of your own! Remember that the smell intensifies after burning a few times, with essential oils that sometimes will happen in candle use. She will be making more with essential oils only so if you have your favorite blends remember to post them in the comments!

DIY Soothing Spot Roll-On

It is Summer again and while it is my FAVORITE season of all, I forget about those pesky little annoyances that the season brings with it!

We have many holidays and gathering coming up so I wanted to share with you what I recently made to help us in time of need when we forget to grab our bug spray on the way out!

I have been handing these out like candy lately and they are super simple. I know us busy moms are on the go and we are lucky to remember the kids shoes at times but I always have this one rolling around in the bottom of my purse for anytime annoyances strike!

This is a super easy recipe and doesn’t take much at all to make.

If you aren’t already using Young Living oils go right here to see why I chose them over all the rest and why I would never use anything else and if you are ready to get your first healthy lifestyle starter box of essential oils go right here to sign up and let me get you plugged into our group with tons of support and guidance to make your transition easy!

Forgot your Outdoor Spray and now you’re paying for it? Use this Soothe the Spot roll-on and your smile will come right back

DIY Soothing Spot Roll-On

5 drops Lavender

2 drops Lemon

5 drops *Purification

3 drops *Peppermint

*Leave the Purification and Peppermint out of it when using on children 2 and under.

Combine all the oils in a 10 ml roller bottle like these here and fill the rest with Young Living’s V6 oil or your favorite carrier oil like almond oil or if you don’t know which carrier oil you like you can try a sampler like this

Apply this soothing stick to any areas you need and you can apply them as often as you need, just be careful when using citrus oils since it can make your skin more sensitive in direct sun.

Pro Tip- Use label sheets to quickly write down what the roller is and wrap it around the bottle to make using and finding the right oil blend easier.

With any purchases made here I will get a small compensation so please order through my links. My opinions are 100% my own and I only post on things I use myself.
